Detailed Itinerary

Day1: Transfer from Kampala to Kibale national park.
The driver will pick you from the hotel and start your journey to Kibale national park. The journey is about 5-6 hour drive. It goes through Mityana to Fort portal while enjoying the scenic views along the way. The lunch en-route will be in Fort portal. While in fort portal, you will catch a glimpse of the Toro kingdom palace, the royal tombs. Check in at the lodge. Dinner and overnight will be served at the lodge.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and visit Bigodi wetland.
Have an early breakfast then head to the park headquarters for briefing then after you will enter the forest to start the chimpanzee tracking whiling following the guide. Kibale national park is among the best primate destinations in Africa especially chimpanzee tracking. It accommodates a number of primates and other wildlife. The moment you meet the chimpanzee while tracking them, you are only given an hour to be with them. After tracking the chimpanzees, you will go back to your hotel for lunch.
In the afternoon, go for nature walk at Bigodi wetland where you will get a chance to encounter a number of bird species, the Bigodi community and several mammal swamp dwellers. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer from Kibale N/Park to Queen Elizabeth national park.
Wake up and have breakfast, then transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park where you will go through the crater lakes. The journey will reward you with attractive scenery landscape of Rwenzori Mountains. Check in at the lodge and have lunch. You will spend the entire evening at the lodge.

Day 4: Game drive and boat cruise.
Have an early cup of coffee before heading on a morning game drive along the Queen’s mile plus the Kasenyi trail. And the game drive will enable you view wildlife like elephants, water bucks, lions, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs and many others and after the game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast, relaxation and lunch.

In the Afternoon, go for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel where you will encounter buffaloes, elephants, hippos, kobs and many others. Still on this boat cruise, you will get a chance to encounter a wide array of birds. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 5: Transfer from Queen Elizabeth national park to Bwindi forest.
Have breakfast, then start your journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park, the home of endangered mountain gorillas and this park accommodates half of the mountain gorilla population in the world with over 12 habituated gorilla groups. On this journey, you will get a chance to spot the climbing lions of Ishasha sector which are famous in Queen Elizabeth national park. You will have a lunch en-route and proceed to the park thereafter. You will have dinner and overnight stay at the park.

Day 6: Gorilla trekking.
After breakfast in the early morning, head to the park headquarters for briefing from the park rangers about dos and don’ts while in that park. After you will be divided into groups of 8 individuals. Then enter the forest and start off gorilla trekking safari as directed by the rangers. It is a magnificent experience watching the gentle mountain gorillas playing, feeding plus doing other interesting activities. Gorilla trekking takes 2 to 8 hours depending on the location and movement of the group you’re trekking. Once you meet the gorillas, you’re only allowed to spend one hour with them so remember to use it wisely. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. Dinner and overnight at the park.

Day 7: Transfer from Bwindi impenetrable forest to Kampala.
After having your breakfast, set off for your journey back to Kampala and have a lunch en-route in mbarara at Igongo hotel then proceed to your journey however, you will have a stopover at the equator. The driver will drop you to your hotel or to the airport for your departure flight.
