5 Days Safari Uganda and Rwanda will first take you to Uganda’s Bwindi impenetrable national park, the prime home for almost three quarters of the world’s total remaining population of the mountain gorillas. Here you will track the mighty apes in the forest, spend an hour with them and also visit the famous Batwa pygmies of the forest.
The five days then take you to Volcanoes national park in Rwanda; the land of a thousand hills. Here you are to track the golden monkeys and also visit the popular Ibyiwachu cultural village that displays all the three Rwanda’s Ethnic groups in one center.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Bwindi impenetrable national park.
Early morning, be picked by the company driver guide from the airport or the lodge where you would have spent the previous night. Enjoy a comfortable drive from Kampala to Bwindi, it’s approximately an eight hour drive taking almost a full day.
The journey itself is an experience of its own on the trip. Have a stop at the equator line in Kayabwe and watch the water experiment that shows that water flows to different directions in the different hemispheres. Then proceed to Igongo cultural Centre in Mbarara for a lunch stop over.
After lunch, continue directly to Bwindi impenetrable park enjoying the beautiful moments of viewing the extremely striking landscapes, some plain plateaus and others valleys rolled in Kigezi hills, tinted with the green vegetation.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and Batwa community.
Have an early morning breakfast and head to the park headquarters for a short briefing from the park ranger about the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking and also be grouped.
Start the trek in the jungle to hunt for the mountain gorillas. The trek is quite hectic as it involves a simple hike into the forest and starts as early as 7:30am. Walk in the impenetrable forest, paving your way out with a hand stick till you finally meet the gentle apes. Spend the magical hour with the gorillas, taking photos, watching them play with each other and conducting their normal lives.
Looking straight in the red eyes of a silverback a lifetime memory. After the hour trek back to the lodge for lunch and refreshments and then go for a cultural encounter with the Batwa forest people, the ones believed to be the first inhabitants of the forest. Explore their day to day lives and also taste their local cuisines.

Day 3: Transfer to volcanoes national park.
Having had a delicious breakfast, start your journey to Rwanda’s volcanoes national park the prime destination for gorilla trekking in this country. The park also homes several golden monkeys that can easily be trekked. The journey still gives you clearer views of the Virunga Mountains and the thousand hills of Rwanda.

Day 4: Golden monkey trekking and Ibyiwachu cultural village.
In the morning after an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a short briefing from the park guide and then enter the forest for the golden monkey trekking. Just in a few minutes, meet the beautiful golden monkeys and watch them play and jump from one tree branch to another and see how the live daily. It’s simply an experience for life.
Later on after lunch, visit the famous Ibyiwachu cultural village that gathers together all the three ethnic groups of Rwanda in only one stop point. Engage in the traditional dances performed here. A taste of the local cuisine is a guarantee except to those that don’t want.

Day 5: Transfer to Kigali airport. Departure.
