5 Days Uganda primates safari takes you to 2 national parks where you will be able to track chimpanzees and mountain gorillas. One of the parks to visit is Kibale, the primate capital which accommodates up to 13 primate species including chimpanzees, monkeys, and numerous species of baboons, among others. And 350 bird species notably the rare shoebill, great blue Turaco and green breasted pitta.
Bwindi Impenetrable national park on the other hand is home to half of the world’s population of mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking safari is the only way to encounter the habituated mountain gorillas face to face and also to view lots of other forest creatures.

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Kibale National Park.
The driver/guide picks you to start the trip. Go through Mubende with a stopover at Nakayima tree and get to know the story behind this legendary tree. Continue to Fort portal traversing spectacular tea plantations and local homesteads. Have lunch in fort portal & later visit AmabeereGa’nyinamwiru (the stalagmite and stalactite rocks). Witness the scenic beauty of the place and background stories. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale forest National Park. Nature walk in Bigodi wetland sanctuary.
After having breakfast, go for chimp pre-tracking briefing sessionat Kanyanchu park headquarters. This can take you half day. This activity also gives you a chance to spot L’Hoest monkeys, baboons, white and black colobus monkeys, grey checked mangabeys, among others. After tracking, get back to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon undertake aguided nature walk to Bigodi swamp sanctuary, a good site for birders and cultural enthusiasts. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park.
After having breakfast, transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park, home of the rare mountain gorillas. Drive through Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park which is famous for the tree climbing lions. Have lunch en-route and continue to your lodge in Bwindi for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking experience.
In the morning after taking breakfast, you will go to the park headquarters for a briefing from the park rangers about the dos and don’ts while trekking the gorillas. Then start your trekking safari in the forest, the activity involves hiking through the thick forest searching for the gorillas. And when you meet them, you are only allowed to stay with the gorillas for only one hour, and there after descend to the park headquarters for relaxation and having your packed lunch. Return to your lodge for refreshment and evening relaxation on the edge of this impenetrable forest.

Day 5: Transfer to Kampala.
After having breakfast, set off on your journey back to Kampala and have a lunch en-route in Mbarara at IgongoCultural hotel or Agip motel; then proceed on your journey; another stopover will be made at the Uganda equator for final photo shoots. The guide will drop you at your hotel or at the airport for your departure flight.
